We believe that being part of a community is important in the development of a child. At our Brighton centres we have young adults from Bayley House volunteering in our centres on a weekly basis. Bayley House runs programs for intellectually disabled adults in the Bayside area. Feedback from the Bayley House families has been extremely positive and volunteering at Bambini is often the highlight of their children’s weeks.
During 2014 and 2015, we had a golden Labrador in training from the Seeing Eye Dogs Australia (SEDA). Donna joined the Wilson Street Centre staff three days per week and spent most of her day in the office, but the highlight of her day was her visits to the children in their rooms. Both children and staff have benefited from Donna being part of the Bambini family.
